The issue that matters to me is Climate Change. According to my research, Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil and gas), which produces heat-trapping gases.

So what are the causes of climate change? The natural influences on the climate include volcanic eruptions, changes in the orbit of the Earth, and shifts in the Earth's crust (known as plate tectonics). Human causes of climate change are Burning fossil fuels wherein fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal contain carbon dioxide that has been 'locked away' in the ground for thousands of years. When we take these out of the land and burn them, we release the stored carbon dioxide into the air. Deforestation wherein forests remove and store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Cutting them down means that carbon dioxide builds up quicker since there are no trees to absorb it. Not only that, trees release the carbon they stored when we burn them. Agriculture wherein planting crops and rearing animals releases many different types of greenhouse gases into the air. For example, animals produce methane, which is 30 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas. The nitrous oxide used for fertilizers is ten times worse and is nearly 300 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Cement wherein producing cement is another contributor to climate change, causing 2% of our entire carbon dioxide emissions.

The effect of it were sea levels are rising, and the oceans are warming. Droughts that last longer and are more intense endanger crops, wildlife, and freshwater supplies. The richness of life on our world is threatened by climate change, from polar bears in the Arctic to sea turtles off the coast of Africa.

We must seek for strong steps to combat climate change since it is threatening the lives and resources of our planet. What can we do now to avoid this? Is it feasible for all of us to band together and protect the environment? Yes, if proper climate change mitigation techniques are implemented. To combat climate change, we need to be disciplined as individuals. We should approach the problem with an open mind and take action!

“The world must come together to confront climate change. There is little scientific dispute that if we do nothing, we will face more drought, famine and mass displacement that will fuel more conflict for decades.” - Barack Obama
I could use my blog or website to spread awareness about the cause and effect of climate change and how to take action about this issue. Readers will be informed about climate change by reading my blog, which offers information on the subject. Climate change is currently trending across all social media platforms. People are taking steps to safeguard the environment, but not everyone is on board with this idea. Some people are ignoring this problem.
“Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved. It deserves to be a huge priority.” - Bill Gates
To make difference by posting or sharing my blog in my social media account so my internet friends or netizen will view it. Through social media platforms, we can spread awareness about climate change. Because this is a major issue in our community, it is critical that everyone is aware of it. And because the earth is our home, we must take action to allow the planet to breathe.
Here's the video to learn more about climate change and how we combat this issue.
